Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your Serengeti Baobab Safaris guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast. You’ll then drive to Tarangire National Park, a journey of about two and a half hours along well-maintained tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River, also known as the “river of warthogs,” which serves as the only water source for wildlife in the area during the dry season. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, often seen gathering near the river. You may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, which are closely monitored by predators such as lions and leopards. The park also boasts more breeding bird species than anywhere else in the world, and its ancient baobab trees, some over a thousand years old, add to the stunning scenery.
Lunch will be served at a picnic site within the park. After an exciting game drive, you will continue to your accommodation in Karatu.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive up into the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. When you first see Ngorongoro Crater, it looks like a forgotten world. Concealed by the steep volcanic walls is a pristine wilderness including sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland, and glistening lakes and swamps. The crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago and it covers an area of 260sq km. The Crater is famous for both its geological delights and for being a natural reserve that is home to some of the densest large mammal populations in the whole of the African continent. After you descend into the Crater, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and more than 500 bird species. The Crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhinos.
You will then transit through Ngorongoro Conservation Area, to the Serengeti, entering at the south of the park.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
After breakfast, you will travel to Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet incredibly diverse park located about 120 km west of Arusha. What makes this destination unique is its contrast in scale—it is one of the narrowest parks in Africa, yet it offers dramatic scenery, with the towering Great Rift Valley Escarpment rising along its western edge. At the heart of the park lies Lake Manyara, a shallow alkaline lake that expands and recedes with the seasons, attracting thousands of waterbirds, including flamingos, along with over 500 recorded bird species.
As you explore the park, you may encounter troops of baboons, elephants moving through the dense evergreen forest, and the famous tree-climbing lions that make this park so special.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch within the park before continuing your game drive. Afterward, your safari comes to an end as you say goodbye to your guide. You will be dropped off at your preferred location, whether in Arusha, at Kilimanjaro International Airport, or Arusha Airport.
We hope you’ve had an unforgettable adventure with Serengeti Baobab Safaris!
